Note This national park is intended to protect the biological richness and environment in the area of Mount Ceremai. The appointment was made by a decree of the Minister of Forestry No. 424 / Menhut-II / 2009, which changed the status of protected forest in Mount Ceremai into a national park area.

This national park area partly entered the area of Kuningan Regency (8,931.27 ha), and partly in the District Majalengka (6,927.9 ha). However, the area of legally valid and in accordance with the Minister of Forestry decree is ± 15,500 Ha

Topology&Geology
The topography is mostly wavy (64%) and steep (22%), mountainous, with the highest peak at an altitude of 3,078 m asl. The shape of the national park area of Mount Ciremai tends to melonjong, with a long axis almost precisely in the north-south direction, and with three elongated bulges similar headlands in the north, west, and southwest.

Identification Forests in wet mountain zones from Cigugur to the top of Ceremai are quite rich in tree species. Records include the types of saninten (Castanopsis argentea, C. javanica, C. tungurrut) and pairs (Lithocarpus elegans and L. sundaicus) of the Fagaceae tribe; jenitri (Elaeocarpus obtusus, E. petiolatus and E. stipularis), Elaeocarpaceae; mara (Macaranga denticulata) and kareumbi (Omalanthus populneus), Euphorbiaceae tribe; Various jirak (Symplocos fasciculata, S. spicata, S. sessilifolia, S. theaefolia), Symplocaceae; the figs (among them Ficus padana and F. racemosa), Moraceae; puspa (Schima wallichii) and ki broom (Eurya acuminata), Theaceae; and others.

In the drier part of Setianegara, forests are dominated by species of hunt or medang (Litsea spp.), Saninten (C. argentea and C. javanica), mara (Macaranga tanarius), mareme (Glochidion sp.), Bingbin (Pinanga javana), and pandan mount (Pandanus sp.). In the upper part of this zone montana also found the dominance of jamuju (Dacrycarpus imbricatus, Podocarpaceae) that form a special vegetation belt.
